Malta Independent

At the age of 30 Andy was the youngest editor in Maltese history when he was put in charge of The Malta Independent. He was responsible for launching the title from scratch, recruiting all editorial staff, liaising with the board of directors and signing off the title from press. Previously he had been the chief sub editor of The Times of Malta, the island's longest running newspaper title following a career in UK regional newspapers that had included The Liverpool Echo, The Daily Post and Shropshire Star. When Andy was relieved of his duties as Independent editor he made the front pages himself for the first time... with  his favourite last paragraph of all time in The People.
