There’s nothing like a little celebrity stardust to transform a motorbike into a two-wheeled icon. Just ask Triumph. For decades their bikes have been the favoured mode of transport for Bob Dylan, Tom Cruise, Nicholas Cage, Happy Days’ Fonzie and even Pink, but of all the Triumph models that have roared into popular consciousness, it is the Bonneville that rules the roads.Clint Eastwood rode one in Coogan’s Run, Richard Gere whisked off his love on his in An Officer and Gentlemen and Evel Knieval used a Bonneville for some of his most impressive stunts (including a miss-judged New Year’s leap across Caesar’s Palace fountains that left him in a coma).
